Event Description

Broadway For Racial Justice was founded in 2020 to fight for racial justice and equity by providing immediate resources, assistance, and amplification for BIPOC in the Broadway and Theatrical industry at-large. Little Island is extremely proud to present BFRJ’s interpretation of The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill. Encompassing rap, R & B, gospel and neo soul, this five-time Grammy-winning album from 1998 has been called one of the most influential albums of all time but has never been theatricalized for the stage until now. BFRJ hopes to shift the way in which theatre amplifies the work of artists outside of the theatre industry, namely via a reimagining of the current “jukebox musical” structure. You won’t want to miss this electrifying world premiere event.
